Quest NDS Migrator is a comprehensive solution that accelerates
and simplifies migrations from Novell Directory Services to Active
Directory.

Conventional migration tools don't incorporate an enterprise-wide
NDS-to-Active Directory methodology. Migrating without a
comprehensive tool means manually creating objects and
re-assigning rights which is a risky process. In addition,
migration projects require organization and central management,
which most available tools lack. A migration to Active Directory
and Windows Server 2000/2003 affects the entire enterprise and
requires major reconfiguration of resources.

Quest NDS Migrator provides everything you need to migrate Novell
NDS and Bindery environments to Active Directory. The NDS Migrator
central console enables access to all options, both pre- and
post-migration, as well as scheduling. NDS Migrator provides a
native view of both your NDS and Active Directory tree for better
planning.

From complete account, group and OU migration to file and
directory migration and synchronization, NDS Migrator covers it
all.

Object selection involves selecting source NDS Organizational Unit
(OU) containers (including the user and group objects) and then
pointing these to a target destination in the Active Directory.
Correlations between source objects and target objects are
archived for later use.

Data selection involves selecting files and directories from one
or more NDS volumes. The target locations for data are then
selected on a Windows 2000 file server. Data can also be migrated
to a Network Appliance Filer. When the data is copied, the NDS
permissions are translated and applied to the Active Directory
permissions based on the correlations defined during the object
migration.
