Finite element analysis (FEA) is an important part of the Virtual Product Development (VPD) process. But linear FEA programs are limited to the study of parts that only deform a small amount, certainly not enough to exceed the linear elastic range of the materials they are made of.

But MSC.Marc has no such limitations. As an inherently nonlinear FEA program, it enables you to assess the structural integrity and performance of parts experiencing geometric nonlinearities (relatively large deformations) such as metals bending, or material nonlinearities such as elastomers and metals that yield under structural or thermal loading.
